Who am I

Erland Tegelberg, MSc

For billions of people across the world, rail is the only viable form of transport to travel longer distances. So keeping rail transport safe, available and affordable has been a major driver in my career.

From 2012 I have been CEO of Eurailscout Inspection & Analysis, a company measuring the condition of the rail infrastructure. Building on our expertise in running measuring trains throughout Europe, we have been adding the skills to deliver actionable data to our clients.

Starting 2018 I have been working again on Strukton Rail strategy, preparing the next steps. Asset management advisor to Network Rail.

Since 2021 I’ve started my own company, continuing what I do, and like, best: consultancy in rail, especially centred on data acquisition, leading to optimal decisions on maintenance and renewal.

Previously I perfected my skills in forging alliances between many different stakeholders, not only technical/ management, but also on policy, political, safety levels and issues in a system integration role.

Maintenance strategy and maintenance engineering have become my central themes over the previous 20 years in rail privatisation, from conceptual analyses and models through to implementation. Solid base in rail technology. This resulted in a strategic consultancy role with a cross-European network in railway companies, contractors, infrastructure managers and transport ministries.

Management skills have been tested and proven in projects, organisations and in turn-around situations. Leadership style is really leading, inspiring, coaching, developing, supporting. Creativity and technical empathy allow fast support in thinking through your issues and concerns and coming up with solutions.

Supported by good to fluent language and presentation skills in English, French, German and of course Dutch, intelligence, humour, analytical skills and a solid technical background. Lumosity top score 1841. Accepted by Mensa.
